FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

 

What does registration fees cover?

  • Registration
  • Workshops/panels/banquet/youth night/lunches/a.m. & p.m. breaks

What does Scholarship cover?

  • On reserve scholarship will cover either Accommodation or Registration (shared accommodation)
  • No travel available, No childcare available
  • APHA scholarship applications (Aboriginal person living with HIV/AIDS)
  • 25 full scholarships will be granted (travel, per diems, accommodation)

What kind accommodations are available?

There are a number of hotels with in close proximity to the Penticton Trade & Convention centre, we have secured a conference rate at the following:

Are there meals provided at conference? If so what meals?

Yes, Each day of the conference the delegates will be provided with:
A.M. nutrition Break (10:00 A.M.)
Lunch (12:00 -1:00)
P.M. Break (2:30 P.M.)
April 12th Cultural sharing and Banquet evening
April 13th Youth Night

 

What kind of workshop or panels will be available? 

The following topics maybe included in workshops/panels:
The Understanding of HIV/AIDS, HIV/AIDS and self care, HIV/AIDS prevention & education, Mental health issues, Hep C and Co-infection, Legal issues, Challenges faced by women & children, Community Development, Grief trauma/multiple loss issues,Support for Two-spirited people, Youth and Traditional practices.
