Support Worker
The Family Support & Advocacy worker provides a number of services for Aboriginal people living with HIV/AIDS, and their families. Services are provided from the Vancouver office located at Suite 100, 2425 Quebec Street. Services are available to Aboriginal people living with HIV/AIDS in communities across BC through our toll free number 1-800-336-9726.
Services available include:
- medical transportation
- nutritional supplements
- home, hospital and prison visits
- referrals to appropriate community health services
- hospital care packages
- monthly luncheons
- cultural healing programs
- peer support counseling
- healing circles
- cultural workshops (basket weaving, button blanket, drum making,traditional vests etc.)
- housing subsidies and housing advocacy
- human rights advocacy
